Crowns are either be made using Porcelain entirely, or Porcelain Fused to Metal (PFM) for added strength in case of restoration of posterior teeth.

The procedure involved slight trimming down of the affected tooth to create enough room for proper seating of the cap. Using a shade guide, the ideal colour of the crown is selected which matches the healthy teeth in the oral cavity. An impression is then taken to record details of the tooth, and its surrounding tissues. With the help of the shade and the impression, a crown is fabricated in a laboratory by technicians. During the second appointment, this crown is carefully placed and cemented onto the tooth, and finally polished to give it a natural shine.

During the first appointment, a single, or two teeth adjacent to the empty socket are trimmed down to allow for precise seating of the prostheses. Once the ideal shape and size has been achieved, an impression is taken, and the desired shade is noted. Bridges can be made using Porcelain, Metal, or Porcelain Fused to Metal depending upon the case and its requirements.
