Get a brand new smile with your veneers from your dentist in Wagga Wagga

As cosmetic treatments for your teeth go, veneers Wagga are a great option for improving the look of your teeth and achieving that Hollywood smile. While orthodontics may correct the position of your own teeth over a period of time, veneers are able to give you the look of straight teeth in as little as two appointments.  Veneers can also be used to hide any imperfections your natural teeth may have. Whether they are chipped, stained or even too small, veneers can cover up all these imperfections making it the go-to treatment as part of a full smile makeover.

Types of veneers

Our patients have two options when choosing the veneers to cosmetically enhance their teeth with us.

Porcelain veneers

These are premium veneers as porcelain is understood to be the best material for veneers. Porcelain is a substance that once fixed and set will match both the appearance of natural teeth as well as the way they feel. Veneers Wagga are made with a very thin piece of porcelain that is set over a natural tooth in order to restore its beauty and functionality, the porcelain is permanently bonded to a reshaped tooth in order for it to fit comfortably and never fall off. However, this treatment permanently changes your natural teeth and you cannot go back to how they originally were. Veneers are forever. The veneers themselves are made in a dental laboratory, you will need two visits to get them done, the first will be to take an impression of the teeth to send to the lab technicians as well as charts on your preferred colour and size, then the teeth are made and sent back to the dentist who then instals them at a second appointment.

Composite resin veneers

These are created in the dentist chair at your only appointment for veneers. A resin is bonded to the front of the tooth which is then shaped by the dentist to be the correct size and shape for your mouth, once it is hardened and painted the resin-covered tooth will mimic the look of a natural tooth. This is often used in the case of a single chipped tooth but can be done on the social 6 teeth in order to transform a smile, but it is said that porcelain feels more like real teeth while composite bonding feels slightly off, however, the price difference is substantial and both look beautiful.

Aftercare

Veneers Wagga are a simple and quick solution to transforming your teeth and while porcelain cannot stain or get infected it is still very important to take care of your oral health, as your natural teeth are still behind the veneer and your gums are just as real as ever and should infection in either occur, we may have to grind off your veneer to treat it, so keeping your gums healthy is very important as gum disease is still a very real possibility, even though the front of your new teeth are impervious to stains and infections. You may go about your life as normal but keep in mind, like natural teeth, veneers may be subject to chipping, so don’t go biting off beer bottle lids for your friend’s amusement.

All treatment carries risks. Individual consultation is required with one of our practitioners to ensure that the treatment is right for you.
