FAQs about veneers answered by our dentist

What are veneers?

Veneers Wagga are a thin piece of porcelain or composite resin that we attach to the front of your teeth to cover imperfections. You can choose to have a singular veneer to cover one tooth, or go for a whole set to really transform your smile. With the right care, your new tooth/teeth can last for 20 years or more!

What can they help with?

Veneers Wagga are very adaptable when it comes to covering a wide range of imperfections. If you’re struggling with stains, chips or breaks on your teeth, we can cover them with this treatment. They can also help with minor cases of misalignment, which is really helpful for some of our patients.

Should I get porcelain or composite resin?

There are a few differences between composite resin and porcelain veneers, but either way, they can both really help to improve your smile. When you choose composite resin, it will be a quicker process, and you will only need one appointment with us. This is great if you want to go for a more affordable option that won’t disrupt your schedule.

If you choose to go for porcelain instead, we will do this in two appointments as opposed to one. The first appointment allows us to examine your teeth and take an impression which will be used to influence the creation of your new teeth.

Am I eligible?

As mentioned above, veneers Wagga are attached to the front of your teeth, so it is important that your gums and enamel are healthy enough to hold them. In terms of misalignment, if you suffer with a mild case, then this treatment should work for you, but if your teeth are crooked or you have an overbite, then you may not be eligible.

At our practice we will always have a consultation appointment with you before starting any type of treatment, to ensure that you are eligible and it’s right for you. This is vital, as we don’t want to provide you with a treatment that isn’t suitable for you. If it turns out that this treatment wouldn’t be the best one for you, we will happily recommend others which could be a better route to a great result.

What will happen?

Our dentists are highly skilled in attaching veneers, and they do it often, so you’re in great hands. They will attach your veneers using dental cement, and this will then be hardened using a strong beam of light. Before this, our dentist may need to remove a thin layer of enamel to allow the veneers to blend in better and stop them from sticking out. This procedure can be done in one appointment, which is really helpful if you don’t have time for constant dental appointments.

If you’re thinking of getting veneers, then don’t hesitate to contact us here at Kooringal Dental for an appointment! Our team will take great care of you, assess your suitability for this treatment and ensure that you are more than happy with your new smile.
